Site Engineer
Site Engineer – Cambois, Newcastle Location: Cambois, Newcastle Start Date: Within the next week Duration: Ongoing Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience PROSITEUK are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join an ongoing civil engineering project in Cambois, Newcastle. The project is initially commencing with a major enabling works package, including the formation of a car park providing 1,000+ spaces, alongside extensive drainage, services and associated external works. GPS machine control will also be set up as part of the works. This is a hands-on site engineering position suited to an engineer who is confident working independently and has strong experience across civils, particularly drainage, kerbing, road construction and external works. Key Responsibilities • Setting out for various civils and external works • Drainage setting out and associated engineering checks • Road build-ups and construction activities • Kerbing and associated external works • GPS and machine control checks • Carrying out engineering and survey works • Producing accurate as-built surveys and records • Maintaining accurate site records and engineering information • Completing QA documentation, checks and supporting handover records • Checking completed and ongoing works against current drawings, specifications and tolerances • Identifying and raising any engineering or design issues/discrepancies • Working closely with the site team and client • Liaising directly with the client where required • Attending and contributing to site/project meetings • Providing general site engineering and QA support throughout the project Requirements The successful Site Engineer will ideally have: • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects • Strong setting out experience • Previous experience with drainage, kerbing and road construction • Experience carrying out engineering surveys and producing as-built information • Good understanding of drawings, specifications and construction tolerances • Experience with GPS/machine control would be advantageous • Strong QA and site documentation experience • Ability to work independently and manage engineering responsibilities on a busy site • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with site teams, subcontractors and clients • Relevant civil engineering qualifications or experience This is an ongoing opportunity on a busy civils project, with the initial works package focused heavily around enabling works, drainage, services and the construction of a large-scale car park.
