RAF Lakenheath PAS Refurbishment
2020-2021
PAS Refurbishment project commenced in 2020 and the first 8 of 50 shelters were completed by the close out of 2021. While working under a Tier 1 principle contractor we helped this project by completing extensive QA during the muti-disciplined construction phases while also providing accurate setting out for alignment of aircrafts. Works on the shelters which we provided QA & setting out for included:
- Mechanical works (Installation of new electric supply to each hangar, New door motors (Each door weighted nearly 100 Tonnes!) cable tray, ducting extraction systems, switchgear, distribution boards, new internal and external lighting and security equipment)
- Cleaning & Painting (Interior walls, ceilings and floors had to be jetted clean and then chemically cleaned to remove all dirt and soot from the planes. The walls and ceilings then had to be painted with anti-corrosion paint.
- Resin Flooring (Specialist resin flooring laid with accurate alignment aids for aircraft positioning.
- Jet Efflux Chamber Repairs (overhauling the concrete jet exhaust efflux chambers and external areas, and re-instating new material, to re-create the original concrete finishes.
